History of The Honingham Buck

The Honingham buck has been a coaching inn since the 16^th Century.

Originally called The Bell, the pub took its current name from the then owner, John Buck, when the first Alehouse licence was issued in 1789. John Buck was named in the Diaries of James Woodforde, a Parson who lived in the local village of Weston Longville. Mention is made in the diaries of both John Buck and his son, Robert Buck who was the local Blacksmith. John's son was referred to as Robert "Moonshine" Buck and he was reputed to be a notorious Norfolk Smuggler who often provided gin and brandy to the Parson!

The public house retains many of its period features with original internal beams and warm, cosy atmosphere.

Over recent years, The Honingham Buck has become reknowned for its high quality food, freshly prepared using the best locally grown ingredients. With an impressive menu The Honingham Buck also has a good range of local cask ales and lagers on tap together with a well stocked wine list.
